What's Happening at Bihabawalk Inc

Bi-Habawalk is pleased to introduce New York to a dynamic dance and drumming program. Miva mi woe (“Come let’s do it!”) is dedicated to crossing cultural, economic, and ethnic boundaries as it provides youth and adults alike with high energy, fun classes in African drum, dance, and folk music. It offers community drum circles for team-building, various types of training, personal growth, health, and wellness. In particular, we are committed to inspiring young people and helping them gain discipline, confidence, and constructive social values through the power of the arts. “Miva miwכe’ (Come Let’s Do It) lessons are designed especially for both adult and youth. Students are thought both drumming as well as dancing from the start. The important benefit of this program to our participants is to enhance fitness produced by the stretching, strengthening, and other aerobic activities inherent in dance techniques. This program is mainly for entertainment and work-outs for the participants to lose weight and have Nov. 9, 2010

Participants of our mentoring program will be paired with staff or volunteers who will be screened and thoroughly and trained to provide a nurturing relationship that will encourage them with confidence and courage by participating in this program they will involve in recreational and cultural activities academic enrichment and exposure to informal careers. Parent involvement will be a major component of this proposal with seminars and workshops designed to meet their needs. Expected outcomes are improved academics, better school attendance rates and confidence in skills achieved and relationships built.
