Mission Statement: (Written for first United way grant application)

Our 5 year old ministry primarily serves the Vincent/Harpersville area with Food and Clothing

needs. We were also able to help needy clients with utility emergencies, until our funding become so strapped. Churches in the area have supported us and when we have the funds, we judiciously help clients with small amounts for utility expenses or partner with other ministeries to come up with a total amount needed prior to disconnection.

Our primary service is the food and clothing ministry, open 2 days a week.   Our clients qualify for the food in the pantry.  Our annual numbers reflected that we assisted 781 (2008) individuals with food picked up from the pantry.   We purchase food from United Way for our clients and receive some food donations from the community churches.  The community keeps us supplied with a good supply of used clothes, so we have been able to assist the clients with these needs.   In total we assisted 294 individuals with: clothing, furniture and financial assistance during 2008.  For a grand total of 1075 individuals served in some way from this ministry.  We have a list of other agencies that we recommend for our clients when services are needed.   When we can't assist them, we contact the other agencies that indicate they might be helpful.
We also have received used T.V,'s, washers, dryers, beds, mattresses, large appliances, refrigerators, etc and can help clients with these items when they don't have the funds to go and buy replacements items. We also keep a supply of bedding and some supplies for burn out victims, as we work closely with the Red Cross in our area.
