It's a cold, miserable winter day during the holiday season. You are hustling about, frantically attempting to get your shopping done. Then, as you approach one more store and clutch you bags tightly to your body, you catch a glimpse; a glimpse of that person. The person "down on their luck" -- bundled up in blanket, clearly miserable. With his belongings stuffed in a shopping cart, it's pretty clear, he is homeless. They ask for a hand out with an outreached hand, maybe asking for a little to get a warm meal. You silently ignore him or passively acknowledge him and walk on by. But you wonder, should I have given few coins or dollars? Would it have helped?
